If you are uninsured, the City of Westbrook will seek reimbursement directly from the federal uninsured COVID testing fund for the cost of your test. How do I cancel my appointment?

You will receive a text message with a link where you can change or cancel your appointment.

The Customer Service Bureau can help troubleshoot issues using Solv but does not have access to additional appointment times. The Customer Service Bureau can be reached at (206) 684-2489.

You are strongly encouraged to pre-register. We can only accept patients without an appointment if you have: 1) symptoms or 2) exposure to a KNOWN positive.

What type of test is offered? How long will it take to get results?

Turnaround times for test results are typically 48 hours. Expect results in 48-72 hours.

This test is a molecular RT-PCR test that detects COVID-19. It is not an antibody test. The sample is collected using a nasopharyngeal swab.

What do I do if I receive a positive result? What do I do if I receive a negative result?

You must stay away from other people until you are better. Use a separate bedroom and bathroom, if possible. If not, stay at least six feet apart from others while sleeping or talking. If you are unable to safely quarantine, contact the Maine CDC or the Westbrook Public Health Officer at aturcotte@westbrook.me.us and assistance with services will be offered.

Visit the Maine CDC Website for more information.

For support interpreting your results, call your provider or Westbrook’s COVID-19 Test Center at 207-854-0655 or you can send an email to covidtesting@westbrook.me.us at any time and a member of our team will reach back out to you. The Westbrook COVID-19 Test Center can also help you if you have no safe place to stay apart from others.

If you have a negative result, but have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, stay away from others for 14 days. It can take up to two weeks for symptoms to appear.

Will I be contacted by the Maine CDC (State Health Department) if I test positive?

You might receive a call from state, county, or health officials if you test positive. The caller will help figure out if you have exposed family, friends or co-workers to the virus. They will not ask about your immigration status, social security number or finances. Any information they collect will only be shared with public health professionals who are working to contain the virus. The caller can also help connect you to any support you might need.

What if I lose my QR Code?

We strongly encourage you to take a photo of your QR code for safe keeping, but if you lose your QR code or have trouble accessing your results, call the Westbrook COVID Test Center at 207-854-0655 or email covidtesting@westbrook.me.us

How I my information shared?

The results from all COVID-19 tests are given to the Maine CDC for testing and for surveillance purposes. Maine CDC uses an electronic disease surveillance system that allows public health staff in Maine to receive, enter, manage, process, track and analyze disease-related data. As part of this flow, results are shared with only public health officials. State health officials publish aggregated COVID-19 data every day on their websites.
