Long Term Projects

Forest Street Traffic Calming

We have developed two concepts for potential traffic calming measures on Forest Street.

• Option 1 includes the installation of a series of raised speed tables strategically placed to help reduce mid-block speeds.
• Option 2 includes raised center medians in conjunction with curb extensions at 2 key intersections.

Both options also include painted fog lines to narrow the travel lanes. Any traffic calming measure used must be approved by the Maine Department of Transportation.
