Did You Know?
The United States is the Number 1 trash producing nation in the world. We create 1,609 pounds of garbage per person per year. Think before you buy - look for minimal packaging, reuse what you can and remember to recycle!
Curbside Trash & Recycling Program
Below is information regarding the City of Westbrook's Curbside Trash and Recycling Program. If you have additional questions, concerns or ideas, email the Recycling Department or call 207-591-8135.
Collection Guidelines
- Place toters curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the day of pickup.
- Toters may be placed out after 5 p.m. on the day prior to pick-up, but must be returned from the curb before the end of the collection day.
- There is a 75 pound weight limit on containers placed curbside for collection.
What Day is My Pick Up
Wondering what day the trash and recycling is collected on a particular street? The Trash and Recycling Collection Day by Street (PDF) will give you the collection day for any street.
Holiday Trash Collection
There will be no trash collection on the following holidays only:
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- July 4th
These holidays will cause a 1 day delay in collection. For example, if Christmas falls on a Wednesday there will be no collection on Wednesday. Instead, the Wednesday route will be collected on Thursday, the Thursday route on Friday and the Friday route on Saturday. Trash collection will not be affected by these holidays if they fall on either a Saturday or Sunday.
