Parking vehicles upon any street for more than one hour between the hours of 12:01 am and 6:00 am is prohibited from November 15th through April 15th each year (City of Westbrook Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 31, Section 108).

Our late shift Officers will be placing warning cards on parked cars to remind everyone about the ban. Officers will begin issuing parking tickets for the violation after November 15. Along with being ticketed, vehicles may be towed if they are obstructing snow plowing operations.

There are several locations where off-street, overnight parking is available.  Please check the signs in these areas and park only in the designated spaces:

  • Municipal Parking Lot on Mechanic Street (behind CVS)
  • Church Street Municipal Parking Lot (Warren Congregational Church)
  • American Legion Lot - Dunn Street
  • Ash Street Municipal Parking Lot
  • Warren Ball Field Lot - Stevens Avenue
  • Bicentennial Park/Skate Park Lot - William Clarke Drive
  • Warren Pool Lot - Main Street
  • Skating Rink Lot - Lincoln Street
  • Walker Library Lot - Main Street

Please help the Police and Public Services Departments get ready for the upcoming winter weather by not parking on the street overnight!

Winter Sand for ResidentsSalted sand is available to Westbrook residents throughout the winter at the Public Services Garage at 371 Saco St. Residents must bring their own shovel and buckets and there is a limit of 2 five-gallon buckets per visit

Holiday Collection ScheduleTrash collection will be delayed for the following holidays this year:  Thanksgiving Day  July 4th Collection WILL NOT occur on the holiday and will be delayed one day for the rest of the week. For example, there will be no collection on Thanksgiving (Thursday). Normal Thursday collection will occur on Friday and normal Friday collection will occur on Saturday. 

Christmas Tree Collection -  Dec. 26 2016 - Jan. 13, 2017 Christmas trees will be collected curbside from December 26 - January 13. All decorations and stands must be removed for collection. Please note: This service is not connected to trash collection and generally will not occur on the same day. 

Storm Policy - During inclement weather curbside trash & recycling collection will generally occur on the normal day, although not necessarily at the "usual" time. If conditions necessitate cancellation, the decision will be made by early evening the day prior to the storm. Cancellations will be posted on the main page of City of Westbrook website and local television stations. Only the cancelled pickup will be rescheduled and will occur on Saturday of the same week. All other collection will occur on the normally scheduled day. 




If there is a fire hydrant near your house that may be inaccessible due to snow please help do your part by clearing a path to keep it accessible. 

City Ordinance On Snow Removal 

Sec. 29-5. Removal of snow from private property to streets or sidewalks; penalty.

No person shall lay, throw, place or plow or cause to be laid, thrown, placed or plowed, on or

into any public street or public sidewalk, any snow or ice from private property. Any person or

firm found in violation of this section shall be subject to the penalty provisions of Sec. 1-8 of this

Code. (1942 Rev. Code, Ch. XVI, § 20; Ord. of 2-5-62; Ord. of 4-26-10)
