Engineering
The Engineering Department is responsible for: Technical support to private development and city capital improvement projects; maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations and implementing the Street Opening Ordinance; and providing construction administration and inspection for City infrastructure projects.

Stormwater Compliance
The Clean Water Act requires Westbrook, along with 29 other Maine communities, to comply with the Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit, a set of regulations to minimize harmful impacts of polluted stormwater runoff on local waters.

Wastewater Division
The Wastewater Division handles the following areas: Sewer and drainage issues, including maintenance of City owned sewer lines and pumping stations; inspections of all newly installed sewer lines; and maintenance and care of the twelve pumping stations throughout the City.
