Voters can order an absentee ballot no more than 90 days prior to the election. Ballots typically arrive at the City Clerk's Office from the printer 30 days prior to the election. We will mail out ballots at that time to all who submitted requests. Once the ballots arrive, voters will also have the option of voting an absentee ballot here at City Hall.
Ordering a Ballot
To order an absentee ballot, Westbrook voters can:
Call the Westbrook Election Hotline at 207-591-8116
Visit the City Clerk's Office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday)
"Without Cause" Deadline
Absentee ballot requests can be submitted "without cause" (i.e. without providing a reason for your request) by Thursday November 2, 2017. After that date, you must qualify under the Special Exception rules in order to obtain an absentee ballot.
When do I have to return my absentee ballot? Your absentee ballot must be returned to the City Clerk's Office by 8 p.m. on Tuesday November 7, 2017 (coinciding with the close of the polls).
